Cover-19: Allianz update on cover enhancements and policy conditions
Allianz, one of our capacity providers have released an overview of their underwriting enhancements and other updates to support your clients.
Temporary cover enhancements
To help alleviate concerns and remove the need to notify us of all business changes, we’ve made amendments to our policy conditions so that your Allianz customers continue to be protected throughout this unprecedented time at no extra cost or expense.
The below cover enhancements apply retrospectively from 20 March 2020 for all Allianz commercial policyholders in the UK.
All other Policy terms, Conditions and Exclusions remain unchanged.
Please note that these enhancements are provided at no extra cost or expense to your customer and will automatically apply. This means there is no requirement for policies to be endorsed to note these changes and so, this notice is confirmation that all policies have been endorsed until 20 May 2020.
Our approach is under constant review and we’ll provide further updates prior to 20 May 2020.
Property policy conditions
Due to the current Government restrictions on movement and resulting temporary closure of businesses, we appreciate that your customers’ premises may be unoccupied and unable to fulfil certain policy conditions designed to mitigate loss.
Where this is the case, we would ask that you get in touch with your usual underwriting contacts and we’ll be looking to work with you to take a more flexible approach for both your Allianz SME and mid-corporate customers:
Risk improvements
When setting deadline dates for new risk improvements we will take a pragmatic approach and agree mutually acceptable timescales.
If current risk improvements, which have already been raised following a survey at the premises, are unable to be completed as a result of the restrictions imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we will review on a case-by-case basis taking into account the steps already taken to mitigate the risk and the circumstances surrounding the inability to complete the risk improvements.
